National Nutrition Month 2024

During National Nutrition Month®  in March – an annual nutrition information campaign sponsored by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics – Methodist’s Food and Nutrition Services teams are excited to promote healthy habits by sharing ways you can make more informed food choices and engage in physical activity.

This year, the theme for National Nutrition Month® is "Beyond the Table.” Beyond the Table focuses on not only what we eat but also the various ways we eat. In today’s fast-paced world, we eat more often at restaurants, work, school, events, etc., than around the dinner table. But we can still make healthy choices in any of these settings! Another important component of making informed food choices is knowing where your food comes from. This year’s theme highlights food production and distribution, sustainability, and the farm-to-fork aspect of nutrition.

Throughout the month, the Food and Nutrition Services departments at each campus will be hosting a variety of events and educational opportunities. They’re among the many ways you can make a difference during National Nutrition Month®.

Helpful tips

Here are some tips you can use to impact your health and improve our food systems:

Connect with a registered dietitian nutritionist

A registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) is another great resource. They can help you create healthy habits that are sustainable and suit your unique needs!

Ask your doctor for a referral to a dietitian, or find the right dietitian for you at https://www.eatright.org/find-a-nutrition-expert

Know an RDN? Thank them for all they do on Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day – March 13.
