Update: Employees’ access to their own Cerner records ends Oct. 1

Earlier this year, the Compliance Department announced that employees will no longer have access to their own or their family members’ health information via Cerner starting June 30. 

The change will help protect patient privacy and critical health information.

That deadline has now been extended to Oct. 1, and the related policy and procedures will be updated by then.

This extension allows for the development of a new and easier process for accessing family members’ health information in the Methodist patient portal. The extension also factors in the upcoming launch of a new Methodist My Care smartphone app. More information on this upgrade is coming soon!

Compliance would like to thank the many employees who have already taken the steps to more appropriately access health information via the patient portal and the current Methodist My Care app. When the launch of the new app is announced, we strongly encourage you to download and access the many features available.
