Healing Touch graduates spring 2024

The class was taught by Jane Bies, BSN, RN, CHHC, CHTP/I, a Healing Touch nurse at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital. Nikki Stanley, RN, from the Methodist Hospital Critical Care Unit and Kristin Fox – who is working to become a certified Healing Touch practitioner – were also instrumental in helping the course run smoothly.

In a survey after class, participants were asked what changes they planned to make to their practice based on their new knowledge and skills. Among the responses:

•    “Use for open heart patients in early post-op.”
•    “Use the different techniques for sure in my professional practice and will try these on my family, especially my mom with chronic pain.”
•    “Use Healing Touch to calm my patients and help with their pain and anxiety management.”
•    “Integrating Healing Touch into my practice with patients.”

Other comments about the course:

•    “Very informative, interactive and fun class! Will recommend to others.”
•    “I absolutely have a new appreciation for this modality and the pain relief it provides.”
