Congratulations to Morgan Stern, BSN, RN, a registered nurse in the Oncology Unit at Methodist Hospital, for being honored with The DAISY Award! She was nominated by a patient's spouse, who wrote:

“My husband was at Methodist for 21 days. … From the first day we had Morgan, we knew she was the kind of nurse he needed. Don't get me wrong. My husband and I both talked about how each and every nurse was so great and caring. But each time we had Morgan, my husband was so happy. She knew exactly what he needed before he even had to ask for it. Even if she was on a different side of the hospital, there was not one day that she didn't pop in to say hi. If she saw that the other nurses attending him needed something, she would jump in. After clocking out, she would stop in and say, night, and tell him to hang in there. You have no idea how much he appreciated that. On the day that he decided he just couldn't take it anymore and he passed, we didn't have Morgan. But there she was in the hall waiting with hugs. On the night of his funeral, she showed up to show her respects. That really shows me and my family that was ‘above and beyond.’ We will never forgot her.”
