IT Update: Changes announced for external multifactor authentication

Methodist Health System is experiencing an increase in social engineering with criminals using information obtained publicly or via unauthorized sources to impersonate employees when calling for IT support.

To protect our patients and employees, we're strengthening our processes for verifying the identity of anyone registering or resetting multifactor authentication (MFA) externally. These processes will include video conferencing and photo ID verification.

If you’re on-site at a Methodist location, you can still register your phone for MFA yourself without calling the IT Operations Center. Instructions can be found on the People Portal.
