IT updates: Upcoming network maintenance; scan to OneDrive now available

Published: March 19, 2024
Information Technology

The Information Technology (IT) team will be conducting network maintenance on Thursday, March 21, from 10 p.m. until midnight.

IT representatives are also sharing this information at safety huddles this week, and a desktop alert will be deployed before work begins and once it’s complete.

While the downtime will likely not be an issue, applications such as Cerner, PACs, internet access, email to voice calls could be impacted. If issues arise, the IT team will need to capture information and implement troubleshooting measures. If this should occur, downtime should be less than one hour.

Please communicate the upcoming maintenance initiative with your teams. If you have questions, contact Brandon Eaves.

Scan to OneDrive now available

Methodist Information Technology (IT) is announcing a new scan location to all health system multifunction printers. This will address issues that were occurring when scanned documents resulted in attachments that were too large.

The new feature will allow users to scan documents to OneDrive when a high-resolution scan is necessary or a large document needs to be scanned.

The first time you use the new feature, you will need to follow the instructions below. After initial setup, your documents will go directly to your OneDrive location.

Instructions

The first time you badge into the scanner, you will notice two options:

  1. Scan to my email
  2. Scan to my OneDrive

When scanning to OneDrive the first time, you will need to grant access for the application to store the documents.

You will then receive an email from PaperCut – similar to the one below – asking you to authorize PaperCut MF to save scans to your OneDrive for business.

Click on the “Login to OneDrive for Business” option in the email message.

If prompted, use your Methodist login (username@nmhs.org) and network password. You should be sent to a screen that confirms your authorization was successful, as shown below.

Your scan will then be uploaded to your OneDrive Folder at the following directory: OneDrive - Nebraska Methodist Health System\Apps\Scans for PaperCut MF
