For the second year, Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) is offering middle school students a unique opportunity to learn about health care careers in a summer camp setting.

The camp includes hands-on activities, tours and simulations led by NMC’s knowledgeable faculty, staff and students. Students will learn firsthand about nursing, occupational therapy, surgical technology, phlebotomy, sonography and respiratory therapy.

Students will:

  • Go behind the scenes with field trips and interactive sessions at Methodist Hospital and Methodist Women’s Hospital
  • Test their skills in wound care, basic anatomy, taking vitals, reading X-rays and ultrasound scans, and more
  • Experience college courses and talk to instructors about health care professions
  • Learn about the exciting health care career opportunities

The camp is July 16-18 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Campers should pack a bag lunch daily. NMC will provide snacks in the afternoons.

Drop-off begins at 8:45 a.m., and pickup ends at 3:45 pm.

The cost is $175. A $100 deposit is required at registration. The $75 balance is due by June 28.
