Congratulations to Lex Loper, BSN, RN, a nurse in Cardiovascular Surgery at Methodist Hospital, for being honored with The DAISY Award! She was nominated by a patient's family member, who wrote:

“We were blessed to have Lex as our mom/grandmother's nurse for several days as she treated her like a queen. Even when she was at her most demanding and grumpy time, Lex always greeted her with a smile and told her she was never a bother. There were a couple of times she didn’t make it to bathroom in time; Lex was the first one in there to help with absolutely no judgement at all. When Mom would ask the same questions over and over, Lex was beyond patient in answering them in a way she could understand. She helped educate Mom as to what was going on and what they were doing to help resolve her issues. … She was compassionate, kindhearted and so much more. … We are grateful you have her as an employee, and she truly embodies everything a nurse should be. She absolutely deserves this award, hands down.”
