Mia Turner Honored With the SHINE Award for Nursing Assistants

The Shine Award for Nursing Assistants honors these staff members for the special role they play in patient care within the Methodist Health System. Their Supporting Hands assist our nurses In achieving Nursing Excellence and quality patient outcomes. 

SHINE Award Winner

Mia Turner, a nursing assistant on the Medical Surgical Unit at Methodist Hospital, has been honored with the Shine Award. 

From her nomination:

My mom has a long history of bladder issues causing her to have to use the bathroom many times during the night. She frets about being a burden. Mia was so patient and kind with Mom despite the MANY times she came in to assist her to the bathroom. Mom said, "Mia was so kind and patient and didn't get irritated at all with me having to get up so much. She remained lighthearted and said, 'I will see you the next time you call!'''
