Steve Goeser: Exciting News About Annual Pay Increases, and a Total Rewards Survey Update

A message from Steve Goeser, president and CEO of Methodist Health System.

 

You may recall that we conducted a Total Rewards survey a few months ago, and the results of your feedback weren’t surprising. Wages and compensation were clearly top of mind for our employees, and I want to let you know that the Methodist leadership team hears you.

The survey commentary we received was invaluable and made clear that pay increases are key in retaining our strong workforce and attracting new employees to Methodist.

That said, I’m pleased to announce that 2023 annual pay increases will be effective slightly earlier than usual. New rates of pay will be effective Sept. 17 and reflected on your Oct. 6 paycheck. Human Resources and Finance are partnering to finalize increase amounts later this month.

Employees will be notified once the new pay rate is visible in Workday, but managers will have the opportunity to communicate increases to employees prior. Human Resources will be communicating more detail to managers this week.

I also want to provide you with a quick update related to the Total Rewards survey. Results are still being analyzed by leadership, and we plan to soon share more findings and next steps – including possible enhancements to our Total Rewards offerings.

For now, I want to reiterate my sincere appreciation for the efforts of our leadership, Human Resources and Finance teams, as well as their open-minded approach in making these raises possible. Their desire to reward employees for their hard work, dedication and commitment to our organization is unmatched.
