Congratulations to Christine “Cat” Townsend, MSN, RN, IBCLC, a nurse navigator at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center, for being honored with The DAISY Award! She was nominated by a patient, who wrote:

“Christine has really changed my life for the better during my cancer battle. She has introduced me to yoga and tai chi. … I am taking a few Zoom classes she suggested: “Brain Fog,” and I just started “Survivor 101.” Monthly she asks how I am doing and seeing if I am keeping up with my physical therapy. My favorite situation was when Christine challenged me to be a runway model in the Omaha Fashion Week Cancer Survivor Showcase. She surprised me by showing up and supporting me. I was proud to introduce her to my family, as they have ALL wanted to meet Christine and thank her for ALL she has done and is doing for me. Christine has encouraged and inspired me to try these new things, and I am so thankful. She has brightened a very dark time in my life while battling cancer. I consider her a good friend who listens, supports me and has opened a lot of doors for opportunities for me. I hope that anyone with cancer finds a ‘Christine’ during their cancer journey.”
