Coming soon: Upgrades to Printers Across Methodist

Published: June 19, 2023
Information Technology

Beginning June 26 and continuing through October, the Information Technology team will be upgrading all Sharp MultiFunction printers across Methodist Health System. The upgrade is needed as all original printers are now outdated. The upgrade process will begin at Nebraska Methodist College, with other locations to follow.

In addition to the device upgrade, a new print management application called PaperCut will be deployed. This new application will allow broader printing features initially and in the future. Your department/clinic leader will be notified approximately one week prior to the upgrade for your area. Education will be included with that notification.

In preparation, the following changes will occur the week of June 19:

  • One of two new icons (see the images below) will be deployed to all workstations. Until your printers are converted, disregard the icon.

  • When users are working on zero clients (ultra-thin computing devices in clinical areas) and request a print from the "Window's default," two "HoldQueues" will be seen in their printer list.

  • Please continue to use the MethodistHoldQueue (current) until your department printers have been converted to PaperCut, at which time they will use the NMHSHOLDQUEUE (new).
