Upcoming Professional Development Series Focuses on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Nebraska Methodist College (NMC) invites you to participate in the upcoming series focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

The purpose of the series is to identify the importance of honoring the uniqueness of each individual and embracing the diverse backgrounds, values and points of view to build a strong, inclusive community within the health care system.

We welcome all nurses, physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, respiratory technicians, social workers, mental health practitioners and other health care providers interested in learning more about diversity, equity and inclusion.

Program objectives:

  • Identify the importance of pronouns
  • Discuss sexual orientation vs. gender identity
  • Explain terminology of LGBTQ+

Value: $40

Cost for each session: $12 for general registrants; free for Methodist Health System employees, NMC students (do not receive CE) and NMC alumni

Continuing education: Contact hours are awarded for nursing, physicians, social work, mental health, occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, respiratory and education.

  • Nurses: 1.0 contact hours awarded. Midwest Multistate Division Provider Approval # NE1022-1. Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Midwest Multistate Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
  • Physicians: Nebraska Methodist College Professional Development is accredited by the Nebraska Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
