Support our Community Caregivers; Celebrate Health Care Workers Appreciation Week Feb. 28-March 4

Published: Feb. 28, 2022

The week of Feb. 28-March 4 has been proclaimed Health Care Workers Appreciation Week by Omaha Mayor Jean Stothert and the Douglas County Board of Commissioners. The Nebraska Hospital Association is also supporting the effort.

Health Care Workers Appreciation Week is meant to show doctors, nurses and everyone who works in our medical system that their passion and hard work is noticed, valued and respected.

During the week, consider showing gratitude and kindness to all the dedicated, brave people who provide health services and support to our friends, families and neighbors every day. With the ongoing pandemic stretching our medical community, the timing is right to thank those who continue to show up and serve with expertise and compassion.

Businesses and individuals are asked to participate by displaying white ribbons in their windows or yards, lighting up businesses in white or leaving the lights on, conducting an act of kindness for a health care worker, or sharing a simple “thank you.”

On Friday, March 4,  all are asked to unite in support by wearing white and posting photos on social media of yourself, your team at your place of business and/or students with the hashtag below.

Health care workers, we see you and we appreciate you.
