For the second time, the Methodist Breast Care Center has earned full re-accreditation from the American College of Surgeons’ National Accreditation for Breast Centers (NAPBC).

Methodist was the first in Nebraska to be accredited in 2009 and was re-accredited for the first time in 2012. The Methodist Jennie Edmundson Breast Health Center is also accredited by the NAPBC.

Accreditation by the NAPBC is granted only to those centers that are voluntarily committed to providing the best possible care to patients with diseases of the breast. Each breast center undergoes a rigorous evaluation and review of its performance and compliance with NAPBC Standards. To maintain accreditation, centers must monitor compliance with NAPBC Standards to ensure quality care, and undergo an onsite review every three years.

Receiving care at a NAPBC-accredited center ensures that a patient will have access to:

  • Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art services.
  • A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options.
  • Information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options.
  • Quality breast care close to home.
